This blogpost describes my encounter with 2 Cybertrucks and conversations with Tesla guys we met at a off-road park. I have no connection with Tesla or anyone who works there. All pictures, opinions and recollections are completely my own.

Update: Rusting Cybertrucks?
Recent article claims Cybertrucks are rusting.
A Day Of Wheeling Turns Into A Jeep Recovery And Tesla Cybertruck Viral Video
Borrowed my wife's Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Ecodiesel, picked up 2 Buddies in Santa Cruz CA, headed to Hollister Hills SVRA. The idea was to get some video for my Youtube Channel Muddy Ruttzz Overlanding. We got some awesome crawling video and headed to the "playground" to try some obstacles. That is where we saw the 2 Cybertrucks. I did a walk around video and we spoke with the Tesla guy who was congenial and forthcoming with a great deal of information.
With A Million Pre-Orders And Delayed Production There Is Huge Demand For Cybertruck News
Being diesel lover I was not aware that Cybertruck mania existed. Cybertruck fans are organized all over social media. I created a Youtube Short showing one climbing a hill. I shared it on various social media and in short time it was widely shared. That Short now has more than 132,000 views on Instagram. Next day I created a 3 minute Full Width Youtube video that received 100,000 views in less than 2 days.
Sending Telemetry Back To Tesla Headquarters?
A Tesla sedan parked off to the side had Starlink antenna deployed. I am only speculating but I would not be surprised if real time data from the off-road testing was being sent to a team of engineers at Tesla headquarters.
RC Does Not Mean Radio Controlled
Pictures show the letters "RC' on both sides, front and back of the Cybertruck. This is a acronym for "Release Candidate." The term is more often used to describe software that is the final version ready to go to the public. Were these RC Cybertrucks the final version? I wonder how close these vehicles are to what will be delivered to Cybertruck buyers.
Love It Or Hate - It Cybertruck A Large Impressive Stainless Steel Vehicle
Cybertruck has not been on my radar. I think the last I saw of it was when they attempted to demonstrate a unbreakable window and it broke. That being said seeing it in person blew me away. Much larger than I would have thought. As a retired Sheet Metal Worker I appreciate the use of stainless steel. Airlift suspension has huge differential from low to high. A useful option in some circumstances, problematic in others. The giant single windshield wiper had me wondering the cost and availability of replacement blades.
What Did We Learn From The Telsa Guys | Deliveries Start In October?
The Tesla guys were very friendly and one in particular was particularly talkative. He offered up some details about the vehicle like the air suspension, stainless, wheel size and range. What he said that folks with Cybertrucks on order would be most interested in; Cybertruck deliveries will start in October.
Video With 200,00+ Views on Youtube Muddy Ruttzz But I Learned The Most From Almost 500 Comments
Love or hate, there is no middle ground. Being a outsider to the Tesla and especially the Cybertruck enthusiast and pre-order community I was not familiar with the passion and loyalty they have to the brand. My impression is they are generally a very nice group of folks. Unfortunately, and it doesn't make sense, they are the object of scorn from electric car haters. The worst vitriol seems to emanate from Diesel folks. I am a Diesel lover who has no hate for electric vehicles. They are obviously the choice that makes sense going forward and Diesels are being eliminated. To all the Tesla and Cybertruck fans, this Diesel owner is your freind.
Ranger Asks Us To Help A Jeep Wrangler Bogged In Obstacle Course
I got video of the Cybertruck climbing a hill and the walk around video. It was also climbing another obstacle that I did not get video of. When I was about to the Ranger stopped by. Seeing a winch on front of my Gladiator she asked if we could help him out. We went and got him winched out. Turned out to be the best part of the day. Check my Youtube channel for my other Cybertruck videos.
Cybertruck Video Really Helped Out My Little Youtube Channel
I could not believe how much excitement this video generated. It also received a huge number of comments. Lots of fun but hectic. I feel like I got to know Tesla owners by interacting with them in the comments. Great experience! Official Tesla Cybertruck Website here.
A Follow Up Video Has Done Very Well Also
The walk around video was only less than 3 minutes long. I made another video telling the story of the whole day. Myself and my 2 friends had a blast! Clicking on picture takes you to my Youtube channel to watch.
Awesome Day With Good Friends At A Iconic Off-Road Park!
This was such a great day! Seeing the Cybertrucks was just a bonus! I have to thank my wife for letting me borrow her Gladiator. Also want to thank my 2 buddies for coming with me and helping me get some great video!
