How To Save Money Changing Oil & Filters On Jeep 3.0 Liter Ecodiesel

Updated: Nov 23

Upon purchasing a new vehicle from Jeep, you receive three complimentary oil changes. This service includes an oil and filter change along with a tire rotation. After our Gladiator utilized these services, it was my turn to handle the maintenance. I decided that Doc's Diesel Filters was the ideal choice for meeting the Jeep's maintenance requirements. For the price of one Oil Filter from the Jeep Dealer, I purchased four Doc's Filters. It's crucial to remember that the engine air, fuel, and cabin air are frequently overlooked. Doc's offers a convenient and cost-effective solution to address all these filters simultaneously.

Jeep Ecodiesels Require Specific Oil for Optimal Performance: Quantity 9 Quarts

Having utilized both the Amsoil and the Pennzoil shown in the image above, what similarities do they share and what enables them to be employed in the Ecodiesel engine? Both oils are 5w-40 Full Synthetic and meet Chrysler's MS-12991 API SN Specifications. It is crucial to use oil that meets this specification when changing the oil and filters in your Ecodiesel.

The fuel filter for the Jeeps Ecodiesel is designed as a Fuel Water Separator Filter. The housing containing it features a petcock. If the "Water In Fuel Light" indicator illuminates, you will need to open the petcock to drain the water. It is advisable to replace the filter more often than what the manual suggests. By using Doc's Diesel Filters, it is cost-effective to do this with every oil change.

Utilizing Doc's Diesel Filters for vehicle maintenance offers remarkable cost savings. The best aspect is that quality is not compromised, as all of Doc's products meet or surpass OEM standards. This is particularly crucial for diesel engines. I anticipate many years of usage from my two diesel Jeeps, and regularly changing all the filters with Doc's filters every 5000 to 7500 miles will significantly contribute to the longevity of my vehicles.
